Amber River began life as Socium, a financial services company backed by a private equity firm called Penta Capital (who still back us today). We’ve brought together some of the UK’s leading Independent Financial Advice (IFA) firms and given them access to central resources, capital and expertise to help them provide their bespoke financial planning services to more people in their locations. We changed our name from Socium because we want to build a reputation as a trusted UK IFA brand, which means our IFAs will also gradually adopt the Amber River name and brand over time.
No, however, the IFAs who make up our Group are. They are all highly-qualified and highly-experienced and some have achieved Chartered status; the gold standard in our industry.
Even though we are not directly authorised, we take our responsibilities to our firms and their clients very seriously and we’ve adopted a number of values which guide the way we do things.

Financial advice is really the end of the process we adopt when working with clients. Before we’re able to advise on how you might invest, what mortgage might be right for you, or how to best take your pension etc., we need to get to know you, understand your current position and explore your future goals. So, rather than ask if you need advice, it might be better to ask if you need financial planning.
