This year, the Amber River Foundation is focusing its national fundraising and volunteering efforts on a cause that shares our purpose of enriching lives and enables us to contribute to a critical environmental issue that impacts us all.

Why we chose The Rivers Trust to be our national charity partner

You’ll spot the most obvious connection, but The Rivers Trust is an ideal charity partner for us for several reasons. It’s an umbrella organisation for 65 member Rivers Trusts located across the UK, which means they are within reach of our regional offices. Together, they make their shared vision a reality: wild, healthy, natural rivers, valued by all.

We want to help The Rivers Trust to stop pollution, build climate resilience and help nature’s recovery in rivers.

“We are excited to be working together to celebrate our amazing rivers. Many are in a critical state, but they are also places full of beauty, life and places we can go to reflect and connect with nature."

– Vicky Eltringham, Head of Philanthropy, The Rivers Trust

What does our partnership involve?

There will be plenty of opportunities to support The Rivers Trust, starting with a donation of £50,000. We’re also planning three main volunteering opportunities for our colleagues, and their friends and families to get involved in: Spring Clean, Summer Splash and Autumn Glow. Together, we can make a UK-wide impact.

Vicky Eltringham, Head of Philanthropy at The Rivers Trust comments: “The Rivers Trust is delighted to have been chosen by the Amber River Foundation as their Charity Partner, and we are excited to be working together to celebrate our amazing rivers. Yes, many are in a critical state, but they are also places full of beauty, life and places we can go to reflect and connect with nature. We can’t wait to get started and looking forward to seeing many of you taking part in campaigns like Big River Watch! A big thank you for supporting our work and rivers fit for the future.”

We’ll share the stories of our partnership throughout the year, and you can find out more about The Rivers Trust here.
