Neil initially trained as an accountant for several years before making the switch into financial services in 1996. Having worked his way to a senior position within a regional firm, Neil established his own firm in 2004. In 2008, a joint venture with a firm of Chartered Accountants established Haywood & Co Financial Planning Ltd offices in both Sheffield and Harrogate, with Neil splitting his working week between the two locations establishing the firm as a trusted, highly regarded practice.
In 2026, Haywood & Co merged its operations into Amber River Leodis Wealth. This allows Neil to continue serving his clients and welcoming new ones, providing expertise, advice and guidance where it is needed most.
Outside of work Neil is a newly converted gardener. He enjoys walks, reading and supporting numerous Yorkshire sporting clubs across many sports including rugby, ice hockey, speedway, football and cricket. Neil is also a keen consumer of nice wine and good food.
