Shane started working in Financial Services in 1981, originally with Equity & Law plc, moving to an IFA in 1988. In 2007 he established his own IFA practice, Barr & Law Ltd, with his business partner Peter Law. He then joined with Johnston Campbell (now Amber River NI) in May 2021 when they purchased Barr & Law Ltd.
Over the years Shane has worked with a range of clients, including business owners and individuals. Shane enjoys helping them plan for their financial future, which ultimately is retirement, creating wealth and income in a tax-efficient manner. When inheritance tax planning is involved, this includes providing advice on the tax-efficient passing of assets to the next generation.
Shane is married with a son and daughter who haven’t needed to make use of their dad’s taxi service for several years. He is surrounded by golfers and every now and again considers taking it up – if it isn’t already too late.
