This week, Amber River True Bearing Chairman George Critchley and Marketing Manager Jayne Raven attended the final of the Lancashire “Last Choir Singing” competition. A joyful celebration of music, confidence and community spirit.
Originally created, funded and run by Amber River True Bearing, Last Choir Singing has been giving primary school children the opportunity to perform on a major stage for over a decade. After 10 years of running the competition, we were proud to pass the reins last year to a local production company who share our passion for the event and are committed to continuing this amazing opportunity for schools and children across Lancashire.
A memorable night at Blackpool Opera House
This year’s final had an electric atmosphere from start to finish. The children, aged between 6 and 11, filled Blackpool Opera House with energy, enthusiasm and song. For many of them, performing on such an iconic stage was a major moment in their young lives — and one they are sure to remember for years to come.
A joyful celebration of music, confidence and community spirit.

Choirs travelled from communities including Oswaldtwistle, Blackburn, Preston, Goosnargh and many other towns and villages across the county. Every school brought something special to the stage, making the final a fantastic showcase of young talent and teamwork.
A huge congratulations goes to Shakespeare School from Fleetwood, who were crowned this year’s winners. Their performance was a brilliant example of the confidence, creativity and joy that Last Choir Singing continues to inspire.
We are delighted to see the competition continue to thrive and to know that Last Choir Singing will keep giving children across Lancashire the chance to discover their voices, build confidence and enjoy the magic of performing together.
