Investment Adviser

We all want our money to grow. With an adviser by your side, you can make more informed decisions that help to make that happen.

A little advice can go a long way

Regardless of whether your money has come about through hard work, good fortune, or inheritance, the same question applies: what’s the best way to make it work harder for you? A qualified investment adviser, like one of Amber River’s financial planners, can help you answer that question.

They’ll spend time understanding what you’d like to do with your money (and when), how much you need your money grow, and how comfortable (or uncomfortable) you are with the risks associated with investing.

Then, with your input, they’ll develop a tailored investment strategy which aims to achieve your objectives in the most tax-efficient way, and in line with your beliefs and values.

The cost of advice

Your investment adviser will charge a fee for any pensions and investment advice they provide. You may also opt for an ongoing servicing arrangement, which means an annual (or more frequent) meeting to review your circumstances and financial position, and check how you’re doing against your plan.

All of this will be set out when you first meet and agreed upfront. That means you’ll know the type of service you’ll receive, how much it will cost, and the benefits you’ll get as a result from the very beginning.

A portfolio of investments that reflects you

Investing your money can be a deeply personal process. Not only will you want your investment to help you achieve a specific goal or set of goals, but you’ll want to do it in a way you can afford and are comfortable with.

That means avoiding risks you can’t afford to take, because the value of your investment can go down as well as up, and you may not get back the full amount invested. It may also mean investing for a specified amount of time, and making conscious choices about where you invest your money – by investing in funds that align with your personal values, for example.

Your investment adviser can help you get to the bottom of what you really want from your money, and turn that into a strategy that’s designed around you.

Putting it all together

Perhaps most importantly, your adviser will help you understand your investment within the context of a wider financial plan. That means considering how to protect your money, how it might link to areas like retirement planning, and thinking about whether you’d like other people to benefit from your investment now, or in the future.

It’s all part of a process that we call Life Landscaping®.
