John began his career in the financial services industry at a small IFA firm in 1987. Since then, he has worked for a variety of prominent firms as both a paraplanner and adviser, before joining Ian Rankin Ltd (now part of Amber River True Bearing) as an adviser in 2008.

His favourite part of his role as a Financial Planning Consultant is interacting with clients and having the opportunity to make a positive impact on their lives. Through the provision of high-quality financial planning advice, and by creating and implementing a holistic financial plan, he can ensure his clients reach their goals, even if their circumstances change over time. John enjoys regular face to face contact with clients and considers it important to hold regular review meetings, as typically nothing stays the same and flexibility is the key to financial planning.

Outside of work, John lives in a small village near Manchester with his wife and four children. He is a long-standing season ticket holder at Manchester City and when not attending games, he is an avid reader when he has the time…in between “taxiing” his two youngest to various activities.
