Mike Williams
Chief Financial Officer
Mike has over 17 years of experience in Financial Services, having joined Amber River in January 2020 to help develop the Amber River strategy and support the acquired Hub businesses in their growth and acquisition plans. In October 2021, Mike moved full time to the Shipman Group as Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to Amber River, Mike worked at the large advice network Openwork, holding roles including Chief Financial Officer, Group Risk Director and Commercial Director. During this period, Openwork grew from 1,800 advisers to over 4,000 and separated from Zurich to become an independent business.
Mike also helped to launch the Omnis Investment Management business which managed over £7bn of clients' money. He was also a Board Director of National IFA business 2plan which had around 250 advisers. Mike has also held roles at AXA Life and PwC and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
